Carter N, 4
Description
Carter is a joyful and affectionate 4-year-old who had his first seizure at 18 months. While his seizures were initially controlled for about a year, he unfortunately experienced several more. After being hospitalized for his seizures, Carter seemed to be doing well until changes in his gait and delays in his speech became noticeable. At 3 years old, he faced a challenging 6-week hospital stay for pneumonia, during which an MRI revealed cerebral atrophy. Although it is uncertain if the atrophy will progress, Carter’s future looks hopeful with ongoing physical, speech, and occupational therapy.
